Special Announcement: James Brown RIP

firefoxWe are very sad to say that our friend James Brown passed away recently in Guinea after contracting Malaria while studying with master drummers there. He had planned to stay for two years. He was very supportive of Rhythm and Grooves, having supported Seckou's workshops with the other members of Tanante at the last festival. He will be greatly missed, and we send our condolenses to his family. There are some pictures of James in the photo gallery.

This year's festival features another line-up bursting with top-notch teachers including Seckou Keita, Nansady Keita, Chartwell Dutiro, Iya Sako, Ben Lawrence, and Sens Sagnya, all in the amazing Hardcastle Crags National Trust woodland estate.

If you have been before, you know what to expect. If you haven't, this is what other people have said:

"It was a great honour to participate in an event led by such accomplished, gifted and inspirational teachers."

"...the whole experience has left me feeling energised, inspired and touched to the core."

"The warm welcome, laid back atmosphere and people's willingness to share, on all levels, was most uplifting and a credit to the environment you all created through good planning and organisation."
